Napoli vs Paris Saint Germain | Prediction, Betting Tips & Odds

The derby of the day in the Champions League. Without a doubt.  Group C is by far the most interesting assembly in this year’s edition of the most prominent competition in the world. This match could easily decide which one of these two sides advance to the knockout stage.

    Match Preview

Napoli was confident against Empoli, defeating them with 5:1. Meanwhile, PSG wasn’t that much interested in spending too much energy against Lille, and the Saints won 2:1 at their Parc des Princes.

    Napoli

Most of the Napoli fans are cursing their luck because of a draw against Red Star in the opening game of this group. And really, with three points from that match, the hosts would be much more relaxed now. Partenopei are without a loss in six straight games, and the only one in the last 10 is against Juve in Turin, 3:1. But the most important thing for them is that they don’t lose at home. Since the start of the season, they have only one draw at San Paolo, and six wins. In fact, they hadn’t lost here since 3rd of March, when Roma managed to win, 2:4. Also, we need to say, that Carlo Ancelotti improved their defense, and that Napoli kept clean sheets in four of those seven home events. Unlike in the previous years, the Neapolitans know how to keep the advantage now. That was something they lacked under Sarri.

    Paris Saint Germain

At the moment, PSG lost just one game since the season started. We are talking about all the competitions. Furthermore, the Saints have scored at least twice in all the events they participated. The only game in which they failed to triumph, besides the above-mentioned, was against Napoli, and to make it even worse for them, it happened in Paris. We haven’t got much to tell you about them, and particularly about their efficiency. For example, PSG played six road clashes, and all but the latest one against Marseille, 0:2, ended with over 2.5 goals. By the way, it is their only game in the entire season which didn’t see three goals. Be sure that the Parisians’ style of play is not going to be any different in this event, no matter the circumstances and the hot atmosphere in Naples.

    Latest Team News

Napoli has several problems regarding the injuries. Vlad Chiriches is out, Meret also, same as Simone Verdi. Sebastiano Luperto and Amin Younes are questionable but they should be available for Tuesday night. Among the Parisians, Kurzawa and Dagba won’t travel to Italy, because of their respective injuries. The medical staff is doing everything they can to recover Edinson Cavani, who is having a thigh injury. Dani Alves will probably skip this game also.

    Head-to-Head

PSG has a positive record with Napoli, but that is after only three games. The Saints won once in Italy, all the way back in 1993, and after that, we saw two draws, both in Paris.

    Odds and Predictions

This is going to be a close game and to be honest we can’t say which side has more chances to win. The bookies, however, decided to give the edge to the guests. PSG’s win is set at 2.25, while the hosts’ triumph is 2.75. A draw is 3.80.

Napoli vs Paris Saint Germain | Top Betting Tip: Draw (2-2)

One thing is sure here, there will be lots of goals in Italy. Don’t doubt that. It is why we strongly recommend betting on efficiency. Over 2.5 goals is the safest solution for betting on this spectacle. Also, we would add both teams to score there and increase the odds a little bit. For you braver punters, over 1.5 goals in the first halftime is a perfect bet. It is risky, but the profits are high. About the final outcome, a draw is the most realistic. We really can’t see which one of these two sides is better at the moment, and because of that, stay away from predicting the winner. If we had to pick the final result, our choice would be Napoli – PSG 2:2.
