Belgium fans have never seen their country reach the World Cup final and they will have to wait another four years to see if they can finally make the showpiece occasion. The quarter-final saw Belgium defeat Brazil 2-1 thanks to some great attacking play in the first half but the could not break down the French defence in the semi-final and lost 1-0.
England
England enjoyed a fairly comfortable ride in the group stages of the tournament, defeating Tunisia and Panama before losing to Belgium with a second-string team. This saw the Three Lions meet Colombia in the Round of 16 and the concession of a late equaliser took the game to penalties, which England won. The quarter-final against Sweden proved easier but England were found wanting against good opposition in the semi-final.
