Japan
The Samurai ended up first in their qualification group in front of Saudi Arabia, Australia, UAE etc. They were by far the best team in this assembly, but we also have to add that they had luck in some games. Japan prefers aggressive and pacey football, with high intensity during the whole 90 minutes, But sometimes, this comes back to them like a boomerang, and they often become the victims of their own weapon. The defense is the most problematic part of the whole assembly, as they lack constant individuals in that area. Key player and a captain is Makoto Hasebe from Eintracht Frankfurt, while the most prominent star is without a doubt Shinji Kagawa from Dortmund. Several players who are playing in Germany are the core of this team. Also, one big minus of the Japanese national team, is the absence of good substitutions.
